Turned out very good. Started with this recipe and the quickly veered off course.
Used a beer in it and more beef than called for. Also couldn’t find Worcestershire sauce at Kroger today.

These days I go for a richer taste, or at least thicker broth. (If you like it that way.) I brown my beef, remove, add onions and a a couple cloves of minced garlic and increase heat. Cook until onions start to soften, add about a 1/2 tablespoon of tomato paste, a teaspoon of chicken or beef concentrate (or bouillon cube), maybe a dash of flour and then the water and sometimes some red wine.
There’s a million ways of doing it. I change up my recipes most every time.

Yum! I like to browse a few recipes mostly for cooking temps/times and go from there. Tossing in a beer makes me smile, and is a move Id do too. A little soy sauce and tomato paste does what the Worcestershire does too!

This is sophisticated as my cooking gets (although I have been on a bit of a baking spree, at least back when the world was a little saner).
Simple, but oh so very good. Inspired by Bojangles, m ay I someday get the opportunity to eat there again.

I’m a big fan of beef stew. Lots of good leftovers.
